One of the more over looked tip to safe winter driving starts with slowing down on the roads. Many accidents happen because people drive too fast for conditions.
Even without snow on the ground, winter roads can be slick. Whether it is stopping or taking a turn, driving too fast can lead to an accident and lossing control of your car.
Instead, leave earlier to account for weather conditions. Arriving late still is better than not arriving at all.
In addition to slowing down, recommended tips you can take for safe winter driving include:
- Using turn signals sooner to give drivers behind plenty of notice
- Avoiding distractions like texting or talking on the phone

Of course, accidents happen even to careful drivers. Many times, especially in the winter, it is not your fault.
